The state of Florida has an open container law that pertains to boats as well as automobiles. So far, they seem to be lenient towards boat owners as far as giving out tickets is concerned. I am sure that if there is an incident and it goes to court, this could be made an issue by a lawyer. Operating a licensed business and being a licensed captain, I need to follow the law. NO ALCOHOL ON BOARD!
They do sell cold beer at the bait shop (pickup dock) and
plenty of room outside in the shade too sit and drink it,
while watching the boats go by. Add a nice cigar to this and it will be
like being back in America.
